Is it Really October???

I love love love fall and cannot wait for the cold crisp weather to settle into a rhythm.  This month has been so weird.  A few days ago the weather was so warm (in the 90's)...oh, AND didn't cool off at night so we went in the backyard and had a little cool down fun.  The usual sprinkler and squirt gun fight.  It was really fun, but I had to take a few pics this time because I literally kept thinking to myself...hello...it's October and it's so stinkin' hot...are you kidding me???!!!  A few days later we had pouring rain. Go figure.

These moments are fun don't get me wrong, but I am done with the warm weather and long days...time for the cold Fall to begin.  Come on, cold...

End of January 2012

It is hard to believe that January is almost over. This month has been a tough one for us. Loads of sickness running through the house, lots of transitions with work and home environment, and more filled up schedules. Makenna is still enjoying ballet. She loves to ride her bike and scooter and play outside. Her newest past-time is singing karaoke in front her mirror, and helping me in the kitchen. She LOVES to watch herself in the mirror. She is so innately responsible (I wonder how long it will last). She makes her bed, brushes her teeth by her self, and often sees a need with Bailey before I do! She is an amazing big sister to Bailey Rose. The two of them roll around on the floor. And she cares for her in so many ways (helping me, playing with, reading books to her, snuggling with, etc).

Bailey amazes us every day. She has been sick for almost two months (cold after cold and flu after flu), and the whole time a total trooper. After many calls to the doctor and a few visits they decided to do an x-ray of her lungs and stomach, only to discover she had pneumonia. Although it was scary to her the diagnosis there was a lot of relief because she would FINALLY be treated. She has been sleeping worse, coughing worse, and sounding worse because everything is loosening but we are thankful that things are moving out of her little body. She signs milk, more, waves, claps, says “hi”, “uh-oh”, and “go-go-go”.

Excited for February…month of LOVE!

This is Bailey…sick. Hard to tell, I know. She is such a happy girl. Night time has been the worst, but she is so sweet during the day Smile

Ballet

Wow! It has seriously been over 7 months since I’ve updated this blog…one of my resolutions for 2012 is to update this more regularly for family and friends.  Today marked the beginning of a new passion for my sweet Makenna.  She loves to dance.   We have breakout dance parties throughout our day quite often.  One of her best friends, Claire, gave up a pair of her outgrown ballet shoes and thus began my obsession to find her dance class.  It was seriously the cutest thing to watch her and all the little 2-3 year olds in her class.  The teacher had a huge amount of energy and patience as kids ran off every which way.  My daughter was the interrupting one, but she remained mostly focused on doing what Miss Rachael told her to do. We’ll have to work on saving stories and raising hands.
